Heavy Heart

October 18th, 2011

This Savvy Momma has one heavy heart and I just can’t seem to shake it!  That is until I came across the perfect bible verse that totally put things into perspective for me and allowed me to realize God’s ulimate promise to us.  So many hard things are happening in many of my friends lives.  Sick husbands, divorce, addictions, broken relationships with dads, friends moving and the reality of real life just keeps staring at me straight on.  Sometimes when life doesn’t feel like it could get any harder more hard news is thrown into the mix.

But I have GREAT news sisters!!!  God’s good from life’s bad is one of THE MOST liberating concepts in the entire word of God.     Romans 8:28 says that God has promised to bring good out of anything we encounter as long as we love Him and allow Him to use it for His purpose.  Oh my goodness!!!  You mean if I can lean into Him  and love Him, He will use all of these hard “things” for His purpose???  Wow!  Sit and dwell on that for a minute and realize how GREAT our God is!!!!!  No worries for me…well, at least not tonight.  I will rest and remind myself that God’s purpose is bigger than my every hurt and every hardship.  Thank you Lord for loving us and for bringing truth and good out of bad.  I sit patiently waiting to see the good in so many hard things that my friends and family are going through right now.

Pumpkin Season!!

October 18th, 2011

There are quite a few great places to go see some pumpkins with your kiddos right now.  Lots to do while you are there too.  Get your face painted, ride a tractor, enjoy a sausage on a stick, go through a hay maze and finally get to play outside without it being over 100 degrees!  Take advantage of the cooler weather and enjoy the fall season!  Go to http://pumpkinpatchesandmore.org/TXpsanantonio.php to find the pumpkin patch near you!

Proceeds from the market benefit the Junior League of San Antonio, whose members aim to promote volunteerism, support and develop the potential of women, and improve local communities through collective action. Since the Holiday Olé Market’s inception, the league has raised more than $1 million for local organizations

10 Points of Joyful Parenting

October 5th, 2011

My friend Lisa sent this to me and it was too good not to share with each of you!  These are 10 parenting tips that author Ann Voskamp writes about in her book called A Holy Experience.

1.  Today, I will make our home a house of prayer.  I will pray at set times.  And I will invite our children to come move into an interior space that lives with God.

2.  Today, I will transfigure all things into beauty, and I will refuse to see anything else.

3.  Today, I will not have any emergencies. There are no emergencies! Only amateurs hurry.

4.  Today, when stress mounts, I pray to dismount it with gratitude. My stress management plan will be intervention with verbal thanks.  I can only feel one feeling at a time, and I choose to give thanks at all times.  Fight feeling with feeling!

5. Today, I will pray to speak words that are only STRONG words, words that make these children feel strong.  Grace words.  Grace is the only non-toxic air.  All other words I breathe are death words.

6. Today, I will pray to be consistently consistentI will create safe rhythms that our children can find security in.  I will create daily ceremonies because everyday we are CELEBRATING the gift of now!

7.  Today, the moment when I am most repelled by a child’s behavior, that is my sign to draw the very closest to that child.

8.  Today, I will hug each of my children as many times as I serve them meals — because children’s hearts feed on touch.  I’ll look for as many opportunities to touch my children today as possible — the taller they are, the more so.

9.  Today, my priorities will be all Things Unseen.

10.  Today, I will laugh!  And I will let the little children laugh!  I will create a culture of JOY!

MESSAGE FROM CINDY LUTZ

Last spring I started working on a project for a friend by selling her surplus of children’s clothing on Ebay.  Well, I am completely overwhelmed with the amount of clothing that has been delivered to our home, and I could sell it on Ebay for 5 years and still not complete my mission for her.  Next week, I am opening our home to friends and friends of friends so others in our community can purchase these darling clothes.  Over 90% of the clothing is new with tags and would be a great bargain for anyone needing clothing for their little ones or shower/baby gifts.  Most clothing was purchased on sale from boutiques and major retailers.  I am selling these items for 50% off the lowest tagged price and all used clothing will have set prices – low set prices.  This is a great opportunity to stock up on gifts for baby, Christmas, baptisms, etc.

Baby gifts include 3 Marthas burp cloths and bibs, loads of blankets, boxes and boxes of Trumpette socks, coats, bloomers, towels, plate sets, Bible sets and more.  All are new and in gift packaging.

Children’s clothing is girls infant through size 5/6 and boys through a 2T.  Some of the brands include: Baby Nay, Anavini, Lemongrass, Little English, Children’s Place, Gymboree, Polo, Baby Lulu, Old Navy/Gap, Tralala, Rosalina, Feltman Bros, Kate Mack, oilily, Paris Cheri, rabbit moon, Vive la Fete, 3 Marthas, Kissy Kissy, Cach Cach, Zutano, le top, and the list could go on and on.  Again, I have to emphasize almost everything is new with tags and there are multiples of many items.   I have five packed racks of clothing and bins and bins of play clothes – most new!

Stock up for fall, winter, spring and summer!

I also have a box of Halloween/dress up costumes, loads of tutus, sun hats, bathing suits, pajamas still in boxes, and shoes, shoes, shoes galore (most still in boxes as well).

There are also a few Maternity clothing items and a rack of ladies clothing that includes Michael Kors, Gap, Banana, Ann Taylor, Anne Klein, French Connection, BCBG and Laundry if that is of interest to you.

The hours that I am planning to open our home are as follows:

Tuesday, October 4 – 9:00 to 1:00

Wednesday, October 5 – 9:00 to 3:30

Thursday, October 6 – 9:00 to 1:00

Friday, October 7 – 10:00 to 4:00

I am also happy to take evening appointments by email or phone and depending on what is left at the end of the week may have a blow out sale on the morning of Saturday the 8th of October.  I will follow with another email should that be the case.  Everything must go – it has overtaken our home!

My email is cindylutz@hotmail.com and home phone is 824-7817 cell is 286-6366 should you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment.
